Peter G. van der Velden

Bio

Prof. dr. Peter G. van der Velden is gezondheidspsycholoog en gespecialiseerd in onderzoek naar stress, (collectief) trauma en mentale gezondheid. Hij is daarnaast werkzaam bij TRANZO van Tilburg University als hoogleraar Victims and Mental Health. Hij was eerder hoogleraar Victimologie (2013-2017) en hoogleraar Mental health and disasters (2010-2012) bij Tilburg University. Daarvoor was hij als research manager, senior researcher, and senior consultant werkzaam bij het Instituut voor Psychotrauma (1988-2013). Hij was lange tijd direct betrokken bij de ondersteuning van slachtoffers en betrokken organisaties. Hij is reviewer voor circa 30 peer-reviewed internationale journals en Academic Editor bij PLOSONE.
