Ieke de Vries

Bio

Ieke de Vries is sinds januari 2021 Universitair docent Criminologie bij het Instituut voor Strafrecht & Criminologie aan de Universiteit Leiden. Zij was eerder werkzaam als universitair docent aan Florida State University en PhD kandidate aan Northeastern University (Boston). Haar onderzoek richt zich in het bijzonder op de risicofactoren voor slachtofferschap (bijv. ten gevolge van seksuele uitbuiting, mensenhandel, of partnergeweld), de fysieke en sociale context van criminaliteit en slachtofferschap, en de politieaanpak van verborgen vormen van misdaad zoals mensenhandel. Deze onderzoeken zijn vaak praktijkgericht, gepositioneerd binnen inderdisciplinaire onderzoeksverbanden, en meerdere keren gefinancierd middels competitieve onderzoeksbeurzen van de National Institute of Justice in de Verenigde Staten en verscheidene universiteitssubsidies. Haar onderzoeken zijn gepubliceerd in toonaangevende tijdschriften waaronder bijvoorbeeld The British Journal of Criminology, Criminology and Public Policy, Journal of Criminal Justice, Child Maltreatment, Trauma, Violence & Abuse, and Child, Abuse & Neglect.
